High voltage cable systems

Brugg Cables has many years of experience with medium voltage cables up to 30 kV and low voltage cables up to 1 kV. Emergency Response Solutions
The challenge
Uniper is one of Germany’s largest energy producers, owning numerous power stations. Its Irsching site is one of the most state-of-the-art and efficient combined cycle power plants utilizing gas and steam turbines in use today. A serious fault occurred in a head fitting of a cable termination here. Unfortunately, the spare parts on site required for the replacement were unsuitable for use due to insufficient storage.
Our solution
Brugg Cables provided professional expertise on-site and examined the system as well as the existing spare parts available. A solution to meet the specific requirements of the problem was developed, the necessary spare parts provided and these were then professionally installed as part of a turnkey service.

Spare Parts
The challenge
Axpo is the largest Swiss producer of renewable energy and is an international leader in energy trading and marketing of solar and wind energy. A spare parts concept was developed in close collaboration between Axpo and Brugg Cables, aimed at sustainably improving fast and flexible responses to incidents.
This was demonstrated for the first time in 2019 during a malfunction at the Aathal sub-station, where an old cable termination had to be replaced at short notice.
Our solution
Thanks to the spare parts concept already introduced and the Spare Parts Box available on-site, the malfunction could be remedied at short notice. The appropriate spare parts were professionally installed
and the spare parts stock was immediately replenished.

helps us respond flexibly and quickly to malfunctions and to minimize recovery times.
